features. But who to feature for that special 100th spot?
At that time, I’d just crossed the 50 mark and, being a person who really likes to work towards a goal, 100 seemed like the next big level-up opportunity.
For months — MONTHS — I have thought about who to feature. I’d already done my mom and many of my trusted colleagues and friends.
Should I shoot my shot and try and connect with some high-profile celebrity?
Should I forego the pressure and do some sort of comprehensive review of all those I’ve featured to date?
Or should I just keep doing what I do, and trust my heart to recognize when inspiration strikes?
By this past January, I was confident the first option was frankly not on brand with what this has been all along. And the second felt like phoning it in. So, trust my gut I would.
I had heard about today’s #FollowFriday feature from…like everyone.
“OMG you will love her. She is amazing.”
“Oh I just knew I wanted to work with her, she is so fantastic.”
“She speaks your love languages — Data and MarTech!”
So when I finally had the chance to meet Kelly Harbour in January, it was pretty much love at first sight. 🥰 She lived up to the hype and then some, and I legit knew she was going to be my 100th feature right then and there.
Kelly is “fueled by the relentless pursuit of excellent client service, data-driven strategic growth, continuous improvement, and working collaboratively to identify the just-right mix of people, knowledge, process, and technology to deliver legal services to clients.”
I like watching her think. In the few times we’ve been F2F, I’ve sat back and watched her take it in. I see her collecting the data, organizing her thoughts, and responding thoughtfully and with a focus that, in truth, I sometimes lack. Fair to say I’m jealous 🙂
She’s also just a kind-hearted person. She couldn’t have known it, but when I was at my very lowest with stress about next week’s conference, paralyzed with fear that it was going to be a disaster…she emailed me out of the blue saying her firm would sponsor.
It was exactly the thing I needed at exactly the right moment and it completely turned my attitude right side up again.
I’m grateful to have a woman like Kelly in my life. She’s inspiring, funny, wicked smart, and down to earth all at the same time. My favorite combo.
