I met someone recently and wished we lived closer because I was an immediate fan.
Today’s #FollowFriday is the incomparable Kati Christ, Senior Vice President, Manager, Corporate Banking at Bank of Oklahoma.
My conversation with Kati had one theme that really jumped out to me: the value of #experience.
Working from the ground up, Kati started as a drive thru bank teller while putting herself through school. A career in finance isn’t what she intended, but the experience she gained, and her ability to leverage that experience to make smart career moves ultimately led her to her current position — working for an amazing mentor and excelling beyond her dreams.
Something Kati said during our chat has stayed with me since… “Every meeting is an opportunity.”
Gosh, truer words have never been spoken.
How we treat people when we meet them and how we use the experience as an opportunity to listen and learn — it makes an impression and it could open a door for something in the future.
That applies whether you’re in banking, legal, or any industry.
